A variety of activities will promote kindness to one's self, nature, and community. Outdoors with some indoor activities. All activities indoors if raining. 
             
Tuesday, June 6    10 am & 2 pm   Rana McCoy's Cinderella Operetta   Enjoy the fairy tale classic, Cinderella, with a unique twist on the story and characters.
             
Thursday, June 8   10 am & 2 pm   Movie: Super Pets (PG, 1h 40m)    This animated tale focuses on Krypto the Super-Dog, otherwise known as Superman's pet.
             
Tuesday, June 13   10 am & 2 pm   Team Science   Team Science from Mad Science features a diverse, fun-filled reimaging from some of the greatest scientific team-ups of all time! This action-packed show brings aviation, chemistry, and robotics all together for the whole gang!
             
Thursday, June 15   10 am & 2 pm   Movie: Trolls (PG 1h 32m)   After a forest tribe of cotton-candy-colored, shock-headed trolls discover that they're the new favorite gourmet treat for King Gristle, the unlikely duo of bubbly Poppy and worrywart Branch must rescue their friends from the royals' chef.
             
Tuesday,  June 20   10 am & 2 pm   Work Together: Magic and Juggling   Anything can happen when the kids work with Ann Lincoln and her live rabbit and dove to create some awesome entertainment.  Lots of volunteers will help both on-stage and off! There will be references to working together and being a good friend throughout the show.  Ann will also explain how books helped her learn how to use kindness to teach her animals their tricks.
             
Tuesday, June 27   10 am & 2 pm   Better Together   Join Inspyral Circus performers Kelsey Nicole and Kamrynn in a fun and engaging show about working together to achieve our goals. Enjoy feats of acrobatics, hand-balancing, glow dancing, and juggling while these two best friends show how great we can be when we are helpful, kind, and supportive. There is lots of fun to be had in this all-ages show that even includes some chances to play along and make new friends!

  9 pm   Movie: Goonies (PG 1h 51m)   Grab friends or family and something to sit on and watch "Goonies" in the library courtyard. The film is about a group of teenagers who find a map leading to a hidden treasure! There will be booby traps, adventure, and nasty thieves in this classic 1990s movie. Popcorn and drinks provided by the Friends of the Library. Outdoors.
             
Tuesday, July 11   10 am & 2 pm   Magic Show   Kevin Wade's program will focus on kindness, friendship and unity. It includes an inspiring message throughout that encourages working together to make our world better! The program includes the promotion of reading, literacy and the importance of education. There will be a lot of audience participation, surprises and fun where the children are the stars of the show!
             
Thursday, July 13   10 am & 2 pm   Movie: Clifford (PG 1h 37m)   When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth meets a magical animal rescuer who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipates waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey set out on an adventure.
             
Tuesday, July 18   10 am & 2 pm   Thrown 2Gether   Double your fun this year with Finer Arts as we combine learning and laughs for everyone! Our show features wild and wonderful stories of unity and kindness from all over the world. Using interactive drama, puppets, clowning and storytelling, we deliver a diverse showcase for all.
             
Thursday, July 20   10 am & 2 pm   Movie: Moana (PG 1h 53m)   From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who is inspired to leave the safety and security of her island on a daring journey to save her people. 
             
Tuesday, July 25   10 am & 2 pm   Award Ceremony  

Summer reading participants who record at least 10 hours of reading by July 22 will be invited to the Award Ceremony. Invitees will enjoy a bonus performance by musician Monty Harper and readers who have met the book prize goal can pick up their books. By invite.

             
Friday,  July 28   9 pm   Movie: The Sandlot (PG 1h 41m)  

Grab friends or family and something to sit on and watch "The Sandlot" in the library courtyard. The film features a young boy who moves to a new neighborhood and joins a local baseball team. Together, the new gang gets caught in summer adventures, including getting a prized baseball back from the menacing neighborhood dog.  Popcorn and drinks provided by the Friends of the Library. Outdoors.

TEENS  Going into 6th-12th grade

At each teen program there will be a random drawing for a prize from the teen librarian's prize bucket. These include Legos, gifts from local businesses, and more! Only one teen will win a prize per program.

   2 pm    T(w)een Trivia    Are you smarter than a librarian? Teens will kick-start Summer Reading with t(w)een trivia! Teens are encouraged to work in teams as they answer six rounds of trivia over a variety of categories. Winners will receive prizes donated by various businesses around Stillwater!

  2 pm   Park Clean-up   Teens will be working with Chris Franks from Stillwater Parks Dept. to pick up trash at Southern Woods Park. Ice pops and water will be provided as a reward.

  2 pm   Chopped with Teens   Are you a good cook? Show off your cooking skills at Chopped with teens! Teens will make a variety of dishes based on the popular cooking show in three rounds and get to taste their own dishes!

  2 pm   Get Crafty: Pokemon the First Movie (G 1h 36m)   Gotta catch 'em all! Teens will enjoy a movie with a craft at the Stillwater Public Library. Teens will watch a classic movie and make miniature terrariums. Snacks will also be provided by SPL during the movie and craft.

  2 pm   Kitten Craft with Tiny Paws   Tiny Paws Kitten Adoption will work with teens to create cute crafts and toys for their kittens at home! Teens will make: cat beds, kitten wands, wine cork play toys, and more!

  2-3 pm   Launchers with Mad Science   Mad Science presents "Launchers"! Following the examples of major scientific and engineering inventors, teens will work in groups to create different kinds of launchers with the help of scientists from Mad Science.

  2 pm   Spider-Man into the Spiderverse (PG 1h 56m)   After Miles Morales gets bitten by a radioactive spider, he becomes the amazing Spider-Man! Join SPL for a movie night complete with popcorn and soda for any and all teens who look to swing by for this movie program. Mix-ins will also be provided by SPL during the movie

  5 pm   Reward Party for Top 30 Readers   The top 30 readers for the teens will get a special invite-only party at the library! 

 

ADULTS & OLDER TEENS

All adult/older teen programs require registration as most are indoors and space is limited. Click here to register.

At each adult program there will be a drawing for a one week membership to HotWorx and another drawing for a Red Earth Yoga coupon and a Jimmy's Egg coupon. Adults that attend will also get their names put in for a drawing at the end of summer reading for four tickets to the OSU vs Kansas State football game.

Saturday, June 10            8:30 am           Creek Cleanup          Canceled due to rain. Candice Miller from Blue Thumb will give a creek-side lesson on local water pollution before leading participants in cleaning up parts of Boomer Creek in Strickland Park. Registration required.
             
Thursday, June 22   6-7 pm   Homemade Dog Treats   Hannah Briegge, owner of the Three Dog Bakery in town, will discuss the types of foods that can and can’t be given to dogs. At the end of the discussion, there will be dog treat cookies available for participants to decorate and take home to their furry friends.  Limited space, registration required.
             
Saturday, June 24   8:30-10am   Butterfly Walk with Payne Co. Audubon @ the Botanic Garden    Join the Stillwater Public Library and the Payne County Audubon Society at the Botanic Gardens at OSU to observe and learn about the many types of butterflies in our area.  Outdoors. Limited space, registration required.
             
Thursday, July 13   6-7 pm           DIY Cleaning Supplies with Payne Co. Extension    Dea Rash, OSU extension educator, will discuss household cleaning supplies, their safety, and how to make them yourself. Participants will get recipes to take home and get to make one of them at the end of the program. Limited space, registration required.
             
Saturday,  July 15   10-11 am   Yard by Yard   Anita Kaufman from the Payne County Conservation District will discuss maintaining a pesticide and herbicide-free yard, increasing mowing height, using rain barrels, and more.  Limited space, registration required.
