End of Year Wrap-up

Another year is almost in the books. The Stillwater Public Library has accomplished so much this year with the help of all of our fantastic local partners and all of our wonderful readers. In the past 11 months, our community members made nearly 210,000 visits to the library and 260,000 visits to the library website. Community members checked out close to 350,000 items and attended a library program more than an astonishing 24,000 times.

This last year, the library hosted a New York Times bestselling author for the first time and even had to move venues to fit everyone in. The “Killers of the Flower Moon” series events had over 4000 in attendance making it our biggest reading series by far. Another huge event was LexiCon which attracted 500 more attendees than in past years. Partners like the Stillwater Community Center, Visit Stillwater, OSU and Stillwater Medical Center were invaluable in helping us.

Your support of the library has made our work possible and we hope you will continue to do so in the upcoming year. There are several ways you can help.

• First and foremost--use your library! Check out books. Call us, email us, Facebook us for help answering your questions. Attend programs. Encourage your family and friends to get a card. More than anything—ask us for help. We will do whatever we can to help you “transform your life with the power of information.”

• Make a year-end donation to the Stillwater Public Library Trust. The donation can be made using the “End of Year Giving” link on the front page of our webpage at http://library.stillwater.org. Online contributions are made via Pay Pal, but you can also contribute via check mailed to the Business Office at 1107 S. Duck, Stillwater, OK, 74074.

• Purchase a gift for family or friends by buying a $3 book tote or a Friends of the Library book sale gift certificate up at the checkout desk. Clear out your book shelves and donate your used books for the Friends April 2019 sale. And of course, come to the sale and buy more books!

• Make a book purchase in honor or in memory of a loved one or friend. Please contact the Business Office for more information at (405) 372-3633 x8100.
