PUBLIC STORYTIMES

Public storytimes are presented for parents and caregivers/babysitters accompanying their own children.

Storytime has moved back indoors! They'll be held in the library's 3rd-floor reception area.
  • Monday Baby Storytimes are held at 9:30 a.m. 
    • These storytimes are geared toward children 18 months or younger.
    • Registration is not required, but you can receive weekly email reminders and weather updates by using this LINK
  • Wednesday & Thursday Storytimes are held at 9:30 a.m.
    • These storytimes are geared toward children under 5 years of age.
    • Registration is not required, but you can receive weekly email reminders and weather updates by using this LINK 
  • 1st & 3rd Saturdays Storytimes are held at 9:30 a.m.
    • These storytimes are geared toward children under 5 years of age.
    • Registration is not required, but you can receive weekly email reminders and weather updates by using this LINK
  • An adult must accompany the child during storytime. 
Explore Geology! Hands-On Exhibit 
Come join us in the auditorium on Saturday, March 25 from 1 pm-2:30 pm for an interactive science exhibit! Learn about geology with hands-on activities and demonstrations provided by OSU geology students. Geared towards elementary & middle school ages. Get a reminder email by using this LINK
 
Write On! with OSU Writing Center
The OSU Writing Center is back with Write On! This spring there will be four sessions to have fun while developing a love of writing. Registration is required, use this link. For ages 8-12 or 4th-6th grade. 
Sessions will be 4:30-5:30 on March 9, 23 and April  6, 20. 
 
Grab & Go Craft Bags
 
Simple crafts are available for all on top of the Children's New Bookshelf. New crafts are set out about once a week depending on demand. Most crafts are geared towards preschool and lower
elementary age with adult guidance.    
 
 
READING PROGRAMS

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (aka 1KB4K) is a year-round program designed to encourage families to read at least a thousand books to their children before they enter kindergarten. Visit 1KB4K for more details.

Summer Reading Program

The library's summer reading program is one of the largest in the state and runs from the end of May through July. It includes a reading program, incentives for achieving reading goals, performances by fun entertainers, family films and chances to win the end-of-summer grand prize.  For more information about the summer reading program, visit Summer @ the Library.

Winter Reading Program

The library annually holds a winter reading program for all ages and starts at the end of November or early December (start and end dates vary).  For more information about the winter reading program, visit our Winter Reading Program page.
