"NEA Little Read" kickoff moved to Sunday, Oct. 3, no changes to "Big Read" kickoff with Edgar Cruz

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / October 1, 2021) – Due to the high likelihood of rain on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 2, the Stillwater Public Library’s “Little Read” kickoff event is being moved to Sunday, Oct. 3, from 2-4 p.m. Families can stop by Couch Park to enjoy “Blackout” by John Rocco at the storywalk, sing along with local children’s musician Monty Harper, learn about solar energy and have plenty of outdoor family fun! Kids can also pick up a free copy of “Blackout” while supplies last to participate in the library’s first-ever “Little Read.”

Rain showers should clear up in the afternoon, which means that the “Big Read” kickoff featuring Oklahoma guitarist Edgar Cruz in the library courtyard on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. will occur as planned. If the grounds are too wet, the performance will be shifted to the parking lot located between the library courtyard and Prairie Arts. All attendees should plan to bring a chair to sit on. Drinks will be provided.

Registration is required to attend the Edgar Cruz concert. “Little Read” kickoff attendees are encouraged to sign-up to get event reminders and updates, but it is not required.
