The Stillwater Public Library and its partners are eager to provide accommodations and services for access to the “Two Books, One Community” programs. Informational pamphlets will be available at the library and participating downtown businesses beginning April 10.

Watch the 1974 edition of the film starring Robert Redford. Popcorn and soda will be provided.

The Sheerar Museum opens its spiffy exhibit "Stillwater in the 1920s" followed by that Big Cheese of Payne County history, Dr. Jim Showalter, who will explain the history of the KKK in Payne County.
Two tickets to Town & Gown's production of "The Great Gatsby" will be given away.
Screen the 1974 version at 12:30 pm followed by the 2013 edition at 3:15 pm. Popcorn and soda will be provided.
Illustration Class Mon. 3/14, 2pm @ SPL}
For teens in grades 6-12.
The 1920's were the Golden Age of Illustration with unprecedented excellence in book and magazine art. Young adults will learn the art of illustrating a story from modern animator and illustrator, Jessica Doll, then use "The Great Gatsby" as inspiration to create illustrations for a children's coloring book.

Monday, March 14 - Flapper Bands: Design and create a Gatsby inspired flapper band.
Tuesday, March 15 - Banjo Boxes: Celebrate the rise of jazz by making a banjo box.
Wednesday, March 16 - Paper Airplanes: The 1920’s were a daring time for the budding aviators. We’ll explore lift, drag, thrust and gravity as we create and test paper airplanes.
Thursday, March 17 - Teddy Bears: A popular toy of the 1920’s, the teddy bear, was named after President Teddy Roosevelt. Stuff, sew and decorate your very own bear.
Friday, March 18 - Treasure Boxes: Inspired by the art deco movement we’ll create a treasure box.
Ballroom Dancing {Thur. 3/17, 6:30 pm @ SPL}
You'll be the bees knees at our finale dance after learning how to dance with ballroom dance intructor Barbara Wells. Learn the Foxtrot, Swing, and Charleston.

Stillwater High School students model 1920's fashion with commentary by OSU's Dr. Adrianna Petrova. Garments loaned courtesy of Mrs. Martha Ray, the Oklahoma Hisorical Society, and OSU's Theater Department.

Dr. Louise Siddons swings down the dance floor with the history of dance throughout the 1920's. Learn the history and try out each of the dances in this "feets on" workshop.
